Baby shower in the park? WDYT?

Hi all,

So my mom would like to throw me a shower, but most everyone who would attend is in NYC and she's not from here.  SOO I'm brainstorming ideas as to where. 

She doesn't have a ton of money to spend - has anyone heard of anyone having a shower in the park?  I was even thinking Fort Tryon Park so it's less crowded, etc...

We'd love a co-ed shower where everyone can just hang out, but I'm wondering if it would just end up being a big pain in the a$$.  Lugging stuff to/from the shower location, no real places to sit,  etc etc etc...

If anyone has any thoughts or feedback I'd really appreciate it.

I've seen people have little parties in Central Park on the grass area. They kind of rope off the area (tying around trees or strollers, etc) And have a picnic party

Sounds cute...but the only thing with that is the weather.
