Pregnant after a Loss

Anyone with Clomid knowledge? Can I pick your brain?

Sorry to post this here - but I thought there might be some ladies here who know a little more about Clomid than I do... I'd love some answers, and of course my nurse at the RE isn't available on weekends.  Grrrrr.

So - on Friday I came directly off of 2 weeks of BCP (after having AF 2 weeks ago), and immediately started a Clomid cycle.  My RE directed me to do this, he only had me on the BCP so I could get two weeks of Metformin into my system before trying again, and he said that I didn't need AF before starting the new cycle.  The nurse at the office told me that there was enough estrogen in Clomid to keep me from getting AF (because I would think that stopping the BCP would = a drop in progesterone, and therefore I'd get some kind of AF).

They were wrong.  I took my first Clomid pill on Friday, on Saturday I started spotting heavily, and today I full on have AF (it's a light one - I figure that makes sense since I didn't have much time to build up a lining in only two weeks, right?).

Is this going to totally screw up this cycle? I feel like the timing of the Clomid is all wrong now.   :(

  • I don't have any knowledge with Clomid, but I wanted to wish you luck and I really hope this doesn't screw up this cycle! (hugs)

  • I took clomid for a few cycles before switching to a shot.

The RE always instructed me to start my first clomid pill (50mg) on CD3 and take one a day through CD 7 or CD8.

I never experienced a shortening (length or heaviness) while on clomid.

I hope you hear from your nurse ASAP on Monday. It would be nice for an answer!

I took mine from CD 5-9 because I had the appt on CD 5. Not sure in your case if it will screw up your cycle but I would drink POM juice, lots of water, and Mucinex pills from here on out to help build the lining and increase your CM.

Personally, although my doctors think now, maybe it will make you ovulate earlier and on time (CD14-15). I was a late ovulator and even on Clomid, still ovulated on CD19-20 but it helped with a stronger ovulation.

My OB said that a period is no indication of the lining, I say BS.

Good luck, I hope things go well and that you aren't screwed up.
