The sniffer has kicked in

I didn't have this my last pregnancy, but as of yesterday, it's kicked in.  Last night we went and had mexican with the IL's.  I sat next to my MIL and her food made me about want to barf.  I could smell the corn tortillas and they smelled horrible. 

Now, I'm bumping from my kitchen island and there is a rank smell coming from somewhere.

::runs to kitchen sink to smell, runs to garbage to smell::

You are getting all of the fun symptoms!!  (j/k)  I only have "pees alot" right now.  I had this smell one last time, and I remember when we were on a long car trip, and I couldn't escape the smell of my dog's breath!  

I actually kind of hope that I don't get this one, though... I work at a hospital, and those smells are already fun enough.

Hopefully your super sense of smell won't last long.  Mine dissipated after first trimester.  There were about 2 weeks at the beginning of this pregnancy that DH didn't smell good to me....at all.....especially first thing in the AM.  It was so strange.  He had to keep his distance before showering and brushing his teeth.  he he he he  Just makes me laugh now.

Now that is funny.  Your DH?  I bet he was trying his hardest to stay clean and smell good for you! 

BTW - I still can't find the smell but it's there someplace - I'm still searching.

The super smeller is what made me think I was actually pregnant this month.  I got it last time a week before the positive pregnancy test.  I know this sounds early, but I really did get it early and stuck till the MC.  So this time, again, about a week ago it started up again.  I just dismissed it, thinking it was me wanting to be pregnant so bad and so I was just making it up in my head, but it wasn't!

Its so interesting to me what sysmptom other people get.  The smell and being so exhausted were really the only symptoms I had last time.  I never had breast tenderness or an increased need to pee.  And my one craving was slurpees and red meat.  Oh, and I usually love shrimp and the thoguht of that made my stomach turn last time.

My DH read about this happening to someone else and was so worried I would end up kicking him out of bed or something!  It was cute.  Luckily his smell never bothered me, but I certainly found plenty of other things that did!

Yesterday I made foccacia with my daughter I almost threw up at the smell of the garlic.

Same here- don't recall this from the last time... the other day at work a friend was having leftover salad from Cheesecake Factory- had edamame, beets, beans and some kind of soy dressing or something- smelled SO gross and I love all of those things (usually!)

Best to take the trash out and clean the inside of the trash can- takeout smells have a way of lingering!
