About a year or so ago, I quit using the rechargeable battery that came with the camera - I've had it for years. It just wasn't holding a charge. So I use two regular AA's. I was loading pictures the other day and noticed the date these photos were taken. January 2003.
When I'm too old to remember, the kids won't have any idea when these pics were actually taken. I really liked the date stamp on the photos.
Re: Just made a disappointing discovery....
From now on, I'll just have to remember to either change the date in the camera from one battery change to the next or just upload pics often enough that I remember when it was done, like unloading the camera each week or whatever.
I have most in Shutterfly but I mainly have photobooks I've made - just none lately. It's so time consuming. I need to better manage my time. But it seems like when I have sat at thecomputer to do stuff, someone is dragging me away.
I'm late but if you save the pictures on your computer in "my pictures" if you right click it tells you the date taken.

Even if the date in the camera is wrong?
If the date on the camera is wrong, the date on the pictures will be wrong as well. What I do is try to make sure that I upload all of the pics on the camera at least once a month. I then put them into a file folder labeled by month so that even if the camera is giving them the wrong date, I know that they're organized with the correct month.
Good luck!
