that a mother of two autistic children in Austin killed both kids recently. She called 911 right away, admitted what she had done and said she just couldn't handle it anymore.

 The interwebz are up in arms, calling for the justice system to hang her for the crime (the interwebz here in Eastern Europe, that is) and that she is a beast.

As a mother of an autistic child, whom I love more than life itself,......I only feel saddness for her, not hate at all. Do you think that's strange?

Before I was a mother, I just didn't understand how this could happen, but now I do.  I think I am a pretty self controlled person, and I have the ability to use all of the resources at my disposal if needed.  I can completely see how people could end up at this point, especially if they are not getting the support they need, which is likely for a person like this woman. 

I don't believing in hanging anyone (though one of my relatives was the executioner of Jesse James back in the day).  I think it serves no purpose and cost way more than keeping the person alive.

I don't think that is strange at all, you have compassion for her and her fustrations and how she must of felt like she was in a very large hole w/ no way out.  Those kinds of stories are very sad.
