Hi! I am getting confused with charting. How can I tell when it is the right time to have sex to conceive? From what I read I wont know I ovulated until it is too late. I know it says that it will help me for the following cycles. My problem is my cycles are very random. My cycle was 84 days this time, 53 last time, etc.
So I guess I was wondering if I should be charting at all and how to use it.
Thanks
Re: Charting Question
You can use OPKs to predict when you might O. My cycles vary too and I try to predict it based on when I have fertile CM and then start using OPKs. If nothing else, charting so that you know for a fact when you ovulated will help you see if there is a problem.
How long have you been TTC?
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
omg, my message got lost...ugh
here goes again.
in all my experience, charting confirms that you O and you don't find out until AFTER the fact. I used OPKs, checking cervical mucus and cervical position. If you have saved all your charts maybe you can go back to them and try to find a pattern. Good Luck

Thanks I have been checking my cervical position and mucus, and it doesnt seem to be working. I am using fertility friend and have read those basics. I honestly have no pattern at all. The only thing consistant is that my cycles are long. Not much to go off of. I guess I will continue to chart just to see if I O.
How many days are OPKs for? If my cycle is 80+ days does that work?
THanks Girls!
