North Dakota Babies

Back at home

The afternoon u/s showed that between my doctor manually removing the clots and them being expelled with pitocin, there was only one 3cm clot remaining.  It was in my cervix.  The doctor gave me the option of going under general anesthesia to remove it, or to get another dose of pain killers & grin & bear it.  I decided to grin & bear it because I didn't want to have to deal with pumping & dumping or being too tired to take care of Reese from the anesthesia.  She actually got it out relatively quickly, but the pain was intense.  They made us stay for a couple more hours & had me walk around, etc. to be sure that the bleeding had stopped.  Things look like they're under control now.  She is keeping me on an oral medication (I think it's methergen??) to continue the uterine contractions for 2 days to reduce the risk of further bleeding.  She put me on more antibiotics to treat any possible infection as well.  Thank you so much for the T,Ps, & vibes today.  It was a very scary situation, & it made me feel good to know that you ladies were thinking of me.

On a good note, Reese was AMAZING today.  She slept so peacefully all day long, & only woke up to feed.  She made the day so much less stressful, & it was so nice to snuggle my baby while we waited for everything.
