North Dakota Babies

Baby C, you are being served an eviction notice!

Of course my appointment didn't go as I hoped, but rather as I expected.  I'm still only 1 cm dilated and I'm guessing 50% effaced since he didn't indicate that there was any progression.  How someone can be in the same place for over 5 weeks is beyond me, but whatever.

I have a non stress test scheduled for Friday morning.  He still doesn't think that the baby is too big, so I don't need an u/s.

I have an induction scheduled for Tuesday night at 8:00 PM.  I have to call at 6:00 PM to make sure that it's not too chaotic in the L&D and that there's room for me.  So it looks like the baby will be here some time next Wednesday.

As everyone knows, this is the worst case scenario that I hoped to avoid.  I would be much more optimistic about an induction if I was more dilated or effaced because I fear this ending in a c-section.  I guess at this point the only thing I can do is hope and pray for a miracle in that this baby suddenly comes on it's own in the next 6 days.  I guess it just goes to show what months and months of preparation get you: a situation that you can't control.

  • I have faith that your babe will come on his/her own! Just keep walking and doing as much as you can before then and hopefully something works! Lots of labor vibes for you.

  • Rats! Lots of labor vibes Nat. But even if baby does not come on his/her own and all your plans get tossed out the window, the fact remains that you planned and tried the best you could. You are right though, mother hood really is a lesson in being flexible (in more ways than one Stick out tongue)
  • ::labor vibes:: 6 days is a long time, i'm hoping things happen and soon
  • I am sorry.  Just think, you will soon have your LO in your arms (in a week!!!).

And look at the others on the board who had an induction scheduled, and boom, they went into labor on their own.  Maybe the same for you, hopefully.

This! Welcome to parenthood. Regardless of the outcome, you are going to get through the l&d just fine. You & Brian are going to get through it a will be wonderful patents. I think it's part if the reason we get 9 long months, so we can finally learn to let go.
