When Rowen was a newborn he insisted on being held ALL THE TIME! He would NOT sleep if you laid him down. I could never get anything done because when he was awake I wanted to spend time with him and when he was asleep I was stuck sitting around holding him. I would sometimes sleep but mostly I would read, watch TV and play on the internet while he was asleep. So I understand how they can be on the internet. I had to do something while I sat there holding him during his naps.
I do it while I'm at work When I'm home in the evenings I have close to no time to spend on Facebook, Bump, etc. because I am actually working then (editing, designing stuff for clients, etc.). If it wasn't for my day job, I'd have no time for Bumping
I guess it depends on your baby's temperament. I wasn't really able to join the land of the living until Kash was around 4 months. He was colicky and I was getting no sleep.
On the other hand, my bf just had a baby and she has time for anything! Her baby naps all day and naturally slept through the night. She is well rested and can get stuff done during nap times.
Annie, I guess the answer is to eat a lot of fiber and drink lots of caffeine have an internet connection in your bathroom and then you can average 15 posts per week, not counting replys, blogs, email, fb, and chats. Because, like you, my DD is a great sleeper, and I'm a SAHM, and I only come on here during nap time a few days a week, not even daily. So we must be making the same mistake.
Not sure if you guys are judging or jealous of how often we post. Also not sure why you care
I'm just trying to figure out WTF I did wrong....seriously, I had my mom here for the 1st week, my husband for the 2nd week, we have a house keeper, etc & I didn't & still don't have nearly the time that some of you ladies have to post. I am going to assume we just have our priorities in a different order.
Side note-I am not at all referring to those who have already returned to work b/c I can assure you that if I were working, I'd be bumping a heck of a lot more too!!
My son is a toddler now but when he was a newborn he slept 20 hours out of the day. I had more time to post then than when I was pregnant. I don't know, DS did sleep really good. I had alllllllll the time in the world.

This.
He was either nursing or sleeping those first few weeks. And it is so easy to type with one hand while he was nursing/sleeping on my arm. I think I would have gone crazy if I wouldn't have had the outside internet world to connect to while I was on maternity leave.
If I would have had a moby wrap, I would have been set.

And it's pretty sad that you have to resort to judging other moms for handling their time differently to make yourself feel better.

Seriously?
Gavin eats for 30 minutes every 2 hours. What exactly am I supposed to be doing during that time? I guess I should be a good mom and watch him eat for 6 hours a day...
Re: Someone FILL.ME.IN
This, & the fact that I'd rather be spending my time w/ my baby as they grow faster than weeds!!
Hmm, I plop Kellen down in his bouncy seat and let that entertain him all day. Is that bad?
Totally kidding.
Honestly, newborns do sleep quite a bit, so if someone is going to be on the internet, I would think that would be the time to do it.

Are you all serious?
