Just refinanced at 3.75%

I started checking into it when eclaires was talking about hers. Well at that time it was 4% and she just called me today and said we can lock in at 3.75%.

  • I hate you. Stick out tongue

We just got 4 7/8%, and the rates have gone down a full point since then. <sigh>

  • That's awesome!  We just refinanced, too, and ours was just over 4%.  I can't even remember anymore now.

  • Do you know what the fees are? We tried to refi last year, and the fees didn't make it pencil out for us. If we can get a good refi, I'd like to try again.

  • We are about to refi a rental to a 15 year, so it will throw off income when DD is in college.  We are around 4.25% now (1/2 point premium for an investment property), but can't lock until the appraiser finishes his job and we can set a date to close.  I hope it happens soon!

Our payment will barely go up and we will pay it off 9 year sooner!

  • That is so awesome!!!  I locked a refi rate a couple weeks ago at 4.375.  Sure wish I had waited a little longer, but of course hind sight is 20/20.

I think it was about 3000. We are 6yrs into our 30yr and did a 15yr and it will save us 10000 after the fees. Our payment only went up $40.

  • We refinanced through US Bank, and they paid all the fees, including closing costs and the appraisal.  Our payment is only dollars different, but we financed for 5 or 6 years less than what we had left.
  • that's awesome!

We were pretty happy when we locked in at 4.25 about 3 weeks ago, but wow!  So you moved to a 15 year mortgage?  That'll be nice to pay it off earlier!

  • I hate you all!! Since CA got hit so hard we have lost about 45% equity since we purchased 6 years ago! Our loan is at 6.75% and 10.5%...makes me ill! And since we aren't FAnnie Mae we can't find anyone to help us :(
