oh the MIL.....(long)

So DH and I had hesitated to talk to his parents about our IF struggles because we didnt want our whole extended family knowing everything.(his parent's families are HUGE) We ended up talking to his mom and over emphasizing how we dont want ANY other family memebers to know. Im talking I said "please dont repeat any of this", and explained my reasoning no less than 15 times.

fast forward about 3 weeks....My  MIL joined FB about 3 months ago. She has no idea what she's doing, and in general is a ditzy spaced out person. I look on her FB and see some person that Ive never heard of writes on her wall asking how she's been, etc. She responds with a 5 paragraph response ON HER OWN WALL updating this woman with our IF STORY!!!!!!!!!!! she adds that 'nothing has worked' and she " needs to be patient to have grandchildren" I saw this and seriously didnt know if I should cry, scream, or throw up!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is the most angry Ive ever been.....not only does she have no idea how to use FB, she's also talking about private info that I begged her not to, and all of her FB friends are family members!!! UGHHHHHH DH has decided to deal with this for us....Im trying to stay relaxed with my first beta this weekend!!! Plus I dont want to freak out on her and ruin any relationship we do have. I just seriously will NEVER trust or tell her anything EVERY AGAIN!!!!

Sorry you had to go through that! I know I have not told my own mother anything about our IF because I dont' trust her! I'm not sure how you are keeping it together though because I seriously would have gone off the deep end on someone!

Oh no! I'm so sorry! Just reading this makes me so angry for you. This is exactly what MH family would do. Hopefully your DH can get his mom to delete all that stuff quickly before the whole world of FB is reading about your private life.

You should ask her to delete the comment.  Did she think that response could only be seen by the friend?  Regardless, she still didn't respect your wishes.  I'm sorry you have to deal with this.

((hugs)) I'm so sorry. That is a horrible violation of trust. I hope your DH can make her see what she did was wrong (and hopefully get her off of facebook, too).

I am so sorry.  I don't know how I would handle that.  I finally told my mom about our upcoming IVF.  I don't think she will tell anyone other than my dad.  However, I am afraid that my dad will slip and tell the world.

Hopefully your husband can reign her in a bit.  I know it is not what you intended.  But, maybe it won't be so bad.  ((hugs))

Holy crap!!!!  That is something my MIL would do; of course, so would two of my BIL.  The last time we asked them not to do something, all three of them ended up inviting half the state of TX to our wedding - when we had specifically said a million times not to tell anyone or invite anyone.  We haven't told anyone, except for my twin sister.  If she says anything, it'll only be to her hubby (but I can't guarantee he'll keep his mouth shut).  I refuse to tell either of our mother's because I know that they'll spill the beans to others.  I am so angry for you!!!  I'm glad YH took care of it, but geez!!!  You're right; she broke your trust and you have a right to be upset.  I'm so sorry that you are going through this!
