I'm just curious what strangers think of my DD's name. Obviously, we love it and she is actually named after my grandma, who I adore. I know it's unusual, and I honestly am curious what people really think when I tell them her name. It is Eveline, pronouned Ev-a-line (not Evelyn). We call her Evie for short.

I like it; in fact, I like it much better than Evelyn. And I don't know how much struggling she'll have to do over pronunciations--the "-line" names are gaining popularity rapidly. I see Emmeline, Adeline, Coraline on this board all the time and I know a little girl named Araline. As more people get used to this suffix, it will be less and less likely to be mispronounced.
Out of curiosity are you pronouncing Evie Eh-vee like the name? Or Ee-vie?
Thanks!! The nn is pronounced Eh-vee. And yeah, I figured it would get mispronounced often, though you make a great point with the -ine ending names. What's funny, though, is for the longest time I thought my grandma's name was pronouced Evelyn because people would mispronounce it, and she was too polite to correct them... lol.
Your DD is a doll by the way.
I've only ever heard Evelyn, but I think I like Eveline better! I really like the -line ending trend though.
