XP: coughing/throwing up w/ first year molars?

DS has been to the pedi twice in 3 weeks and they said it's congestion caused by his molars coming in.  No eruptions yet but swollen gums, also he's been mostly refusing food he has to chew.  The coughing/congestion at night is sometimes so bad he throws up.  Anyone else experience this?  TIA!  He has 8 teeth and didn't have these problems before.

This is the story of every tooth in DS's mouth. I'm scared to death what the 2 year molars will bring and how many nights we won't sleep. He gets a horrible cold, refuses to eat anything, coughs so hard he throws up anything he swallows (liquids included). One night we literally did 8 loads of laundry and ran out of sheets for his bed (he's on a converted full size bed). I'm so sorry you have to deal with this... hopefully those teeth will come out and he will feel better soon.

  • Thank you!!!  I feel better (not that you had to go through it) but the coughing seems so extreme at times I was getting nervous.  And yikes, I couldn't imagine him having to go through that w/ every tooth, your poor LO.
