T&P - TWO sick babies!!

Isaac has pink eye...no real biggie, but still had to schlep over to the clinic bc he is a newborn. Got drops and he is OK. Follow up Tuesday.

Came home and P has 103 fever (forehead). Called the nurse and that wasn't good enough so did her rectal - 104.1!!!! And that was a half hour after Tylenol and a lukewarm bath. After 30 minutes on the phone with the nurse, it went down to 103.4 so she still had to go to the urgent care. DH took her bc I had to stay home with Isaac. This is his first "sick" visit ever. Biggest concern at this point is dehydration, I think. She has no rash or anything really "wrong" with her, except a little congestion. Well, she is good and cranky but that is about it.

Now I need to keep a close eye on Isaac. The dr checked him all out today and no ear infection, throat looked good, he was a little congested, but that was it.

Give her a popsicle. When Elliott's temp spiked in a matter of minutes he freaked out at the doctor and the only thing he would eat was a popsicle. It also helped to get some liquid in him. There is definitely a little bug of somesort going around.

Ugh - so sorry to hear this! After dealing with a sick baby for the past week, I feel for you. Can't imagine if I had 2 sick babies! I hope they both get better soon!

Polly and Addi both had ear infections. Laura and Eddy passed each other in the waiting room at CHOA. Nice. Had to try three pharmacies before we found one that was open. But P has had her first dose of Amox and some ibuprofen and the ear drops and is sleeping nicely. Tomorrow should be interesting.

Yup. We got called back about 20 min after Eddy and P left. dbl ear infection and a 104.6 deg fever. They immediately had me strip Addi down to nothing and cover her screaming with wet clothes to try and get her fever down since motrin hadn't done anything and she'd thrown up her tylenol 45 min before. We were home by 9:15 and she was asleep with a new dose of motrin by 9:45. I just checked on her at 12:30 and she's still warm but not burning to the touch. poor thing. I knew for sure it was time to go when she was sitting in my lap with her eyes closed moaning... It was breaking my heart. I can't believe ear infections are causing such a high fever. I hope tomorrow brings better feeling children for both of us!
