baby shower gift?

One of my friends from HS is having a baby shower next month and if I haven't moved yet I would like to go to see her because it's been a few years.  I don't really have a lot of money to spare on a gift. I was thinking of painting some letter int. of the child's name (and told her this) but the other day she told me that she has done just that.  The other thing I was going to add to the letter gift was a shirt with his name on it.   Would it be wrong of me to just show up with the shirt?

I dont think it is wrong at all! And another cute idea, is to paint a wooden letter and put like a ribbon or rope, to hang on the door knob to his room!

It's never wrong to show up with a thoughtful affordable gift:)

You could always find a dollar book that reminds you of a memory of your friendship. You could write a line or two inside the book describing it.

Thanks I think what I will do is still embroider (sp?)  a shirt with his name and then make a door hanger that says Shhh...____ is sleeping.
