I'm 37w5d and today I have ongoing, menstrual-like cramps in my lower abdomen and back - feels very similar to when I have my period. They are not "coming and going" but are constant so there is nothing time, and my belly isn't tightening - which leads me to believe they aren't true contractions. Baby is still moving around as usual - I just feel really achy and almost sore. If I still feel this way through the weekend I'll give my doctor a call, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? .
Normal. :-) I've got it, too. I mentioned the cramping at an appointment when she asked about any new systems and she said it's just a sign that things are moving along down there. I still have no dilation, but I'm glad to know that things are happening!
Your joints loosen a lot at the end, too--my wrists hurt and my knees a bit....everything just limbers up because of the relaxin.
I will be 36 wks next week and I have had a few of those, but mine aren't constant. I may have like to back to back and then no more for the rest of the day...kinda weird, maybe it's hormones lol! But I keep hoping to experience something ya know!
I am 33 weeks 4 days and have had this all day, I actually coame on to post about it. It started out this morning with an awful pain in my side (last time I had it they thought I had kidney stones), then it got worse and I;ve had constant cramping (into my back) and it feels like I'm getting my period. It doesn't go away its always there so like yours not timable but does get worse at times then goes back to normal. My plan is to see how it goes over the weekend, if it gets worse I'll call over the weekend, otherwise I've got an appointment on Monday. I just wish it would go away!
My first labor started with period type cramps and back pain. After a few hours I was having timeable contractions and had a baby 12 hours later. Good luck! The end is full of so many uncomfortable things. The result is a wonderful blessing though!
I am having the exact same thing as you...I did go to the doctor today and she said I was 2-3 cm dilated! So I am guessing it is my body preparing!! Baby has not been as active and I have alot more bm so maybe it will be soon!

Yup, pretty normal. I am having a constant cramping sensation right now. My doctor doesn't even bat an eye when I complain of the cramping.
If you start getting painful cramps that happen in intervals, then I'd call. Good luck!
