Need advice...(NBR)

So my friend just text me and said that last night her and her hubby got into a fight (which they do often).  He was yelling in her face and his sister was yelling at her on the phone.  She got fed up and hit her husband in the chest to get him to stop talking.  So anyway, she said that today he is making her "pay for it".  He punched her in the head, threw stuff all over the house and then left to get his paycheck and said he was going to the strip club.  I don't know what to tell her.  Their marriage has been declining for a long time, but this is the first time it has ever been violent.  Any advice you have is much appreciated!

This. Exactly.

What she decides to do in the future (ie. try to make it work, counselling, divorce, etc) is in the future. Right now she is in an abusive situation, and she needs to remove herself from that situation immediately. I would strongly advise her to pack some things, get some cash (as discreetly as possible), and leave while he is gone, in order to avoid another possibly violent episode when he returns.
