My infant thermometer sucks! It is several degrees off. I want to replace it before DD#2 arrives....

Need recommendations for an accurate infant ear thermometer.

I love my temporal scanner thermomenter...I got it at Costco.  It is very accurate & so easy to use.  It doesn't go in the ear - but I like it better then my ear thermometer because I can do in when DD is lseeping & not wake her.

Ditto the temporal scanner thermomenter. (Got ours at BRU). It wasn't cheap but was worth it. When I asked our doctor and nurses about thermometers, they all agreed that (a) the only *really* accurate measure is anal - and even they didn't want to do it unless they HAD to and (b) ear temperatures aren't really very accurate on infants because their ears are too small. They actually use an ear thermometer when we come in, which made me laugh, but the readings are pretty wild.  Our temporal scan one at home seems much more accurate. Anyway, talking to them made me feel a lot better about using ours.

My cousin's husband works for a paint store, so they use an infra-red thermometer. The high-quality ones are expensive, but they are super accurate and fast, and they don't require touching at all.
