When will I get my brain back??

So apparently I lost my brain when I was about 4 months pregnant and now with my son's 1st birthday fastly approaching, it has yet to return. Today I went to start my car to cool it off before I ran my errands. When I came back inside my DH asked if I could wait for him to do a few things before I left him with our DS. 20 minutes later I realize I left the car running in the garage the entire time!! A few day ago I put my lunch in the microwave and completely forgot about it until I realized it was still there at dinner. Who does this?? So anyway my question is when does this end?? I would also love to hear some total airhead moments from other moms so I don't feel so alone.

  • never?

my mother went on and on the other day about how she worked full time when we were babies, blah, blah. Um, my mom didn't work outside the house until I turned 7. so if my mom hasn't gotten her brain back, I have little hope for my own.

  • Are you really only 3 posts deep or are you an AE?

Just wait till the second child comes! BWWHAHAHAHA

I put my 21 month old to bed in my 3 year old's bed tonight, and DIDN'T REALIZE it until I went upstairs with my 3 year old to find her sister reading books on the floor Indifferent

Oh and to answer your question

    1. I have worn slippers to work

    2. I have locked my keys inside my car with DS in it.

    3. I have found lunch meat and cheese that I put away in the pantry instead of the refridgerator.

There are more, that is just all I can think of, sleep deprivation will do that to you!

  • Pretty much never. I call my child the wrong name all the time and I only have one.

  • I have left my car running for an entire day. Several times.

I have put the cereal in the fridge.

I have forgotten my husbands birthday.

The list goes on. I hope that helps you feel better.

  • Yes, really only 2 posts! I was nervouse to post at 1st so I got started a little late. But I am getting into it now. Watch out, maybe I'll start a blog next! HA!!

Btw: what is an AE?? (I hope that is not a dumb question)

  • Today I called my ds by both of my dogs names before calling him by his name. And while pregnant I went to dump a pot of boiling pasta in a strainer...only omit didn't realize I was holding the strainer over the floor instead of the sink. Yeah. Hot boiling water everywhere.

I love when lurkers come out of hiding! Do you lurk Parenting mostly or other boards? AE is alternate ego, like when a regular poster creates a different account and posts under a different name/pretends they are someone else.

I call my son, "Shelby." Note that Shelby, my sweet shep mix, has been dead for about 2.5 years.

  • I made coffee and was confused when it dripped into the pot clear - well it was because I didn't put the coffee grounds in. My older son is 4. My brain will never return.
