Grandparents... what are they/ will they be called?

Just wonderingif there has been any discussion on what the grandparents of the little beans will be called (or in the cases of already mommies what they are called).

I guess it is because they are my parents, but I don't see then (or the ILs) as "Nanny" or "Grammy"... maybe that will change... I can see FIL as "Pop" and I wouldn't be surprised if my father insists on being called "The Old Fart" (which is how he has signed all cards for the last 10 years). Another oddball one in my family is that my paternal grandmother is Mumsal... so we have had all sorts of uniqueness around these parts.

What are your bean's grandparents to be called?

my mom= nanna.  stepdad = pappy.  dad= grandpa.  stepmom= nonny

DHs mom:  grandma.  DH's dad:  pop.  DHs stepmom= mimi. 

 

gotta love a diverse family tree   i myself grew up with a meme, nanna, grandma, and grammy.  a pepe, 2 grampas, and a grandad.

My mom is "Grammy", my dad is "Grandpa Jeepie"

DH's parents are "Grammy Pat" and "Grandpa Joe"

All I know is my mom will want to be called "Nana"!

My Parents are Nana and Papa and DH's parents are Grandma and Granddaddy.

Two "Grandma"s and a "Grandpa".  Right now I  think it's kind of confusing for DS though b/c he knows my mom and only sees MIL a couple times a year and then she refers to herself as "Grandma" over the phone and I know he thinks it's my mom with a funny accent (ILs are from Russia).

My Mom is Mimi, Dad is Poppy and his wife is Memaw.

DH's Mom is Nana and his Dad is Papaw.

for a while my mom wanted to be called madea (it's actually a derivative of mother dear) but, after all those tyler perry movies i'm not sure anymore. lol i'm sure she'll go with grammy instead.

dh's step mom is called momma by his sister's daughter but, that's waayy to close to mom or mommy for my tastes.

dh's dad is called pop-pop by his sister's daughter - that'll probably stay

My mom is Grammy and my dad is Papa.

His mom is Ita and his dad is Grandad.

Right now my parents are Grandma and Grandpa, although it sounds like Dapa when DD says Grandpa.

DH's parents are Nonna and Papa.

My mom and dad are already Grandmom and Pap to my nephews, so they will be to our baby too.  MIL will probably be Grandma, and I guess FIL will be Grandpa or also Pap.

Both grandmothers are vying for "Mamaw."  DH's dad has decided on "Papaw."  He doesn't want to be called, "Granddad," which is what DH used to call his grandfather. 

My dad will probably be referred to as just "Grandpa," or "Mom's dad."  He died in 2003, but I want him to be a part of my child's life all the same.  I'm going to tell him or her all about him!

DS was the second grandchild on both sides of the family, so grandparents already had names.

My mom is Gammy. My dad was PapPap (he passed away this February). DS points him out in pictures and I talk to him about PapPap. 

DH's mom is Grandma. DH's dad is Pappy or Pap.

My mom is Namma and my dad is Gampaw.

DH's mom will be Granny Sue and his dad will probably be Grandpa.

My parents will be Nana & Grandpa, and DH's parents will probably be Grandma and Grandpa, but we haven't discussed with them what they'd like. They're German and French-Canadian, but I don't see us calling them Oma and Opa or Mamere and Papere or any other variation of French.

My parent's other grandkids already call them nana and tata so I guess it'll stay that way for them.  

Not sure yet about PIL as this is their first grandchild.  Time will tell I guess.
