Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Anyone have a LO still sleeping in your room

H was only supposed to sleep in our room until he was 6 months old, but here we are at 9 months and he's still in there.  My DH and I do not have a problem with him sleeping in our room (usually in his crib and sometimes bed sharing) and are fine continuing it for a while.  I was just wondering how it is working out now that your LO is older.

TIA

  • That's about when we switched LO to a different room.. at about 9 months.. His bedroom is downstairs (he takes naps there) However at night he sleeps in the room next to ours. (Its attached to our room, you have to go through our room to get to it.) It worked out well.. Now we are trying to decide when we should start putting him in his room downstairs.. (It feels too far away Sad

Ours is just across the house, but it's in the front and my irrational mind tells me if someone is going to break in they will break in in the front. haha

Also, he still gets up to be soothed a couple of times a night so it's nice to have him right by us.

  • yup - DS2 is still in our room.  We want 1 more baby so the crib is going to stay in our room for now.  We also have a toddler bed in our room which DS1 uses occasionally.  They tech are to be sharing a room so I have bunk beds in their room.  DS1 usually sleeps in the bottom bunk.  DS2 starts in his crib and then if/when he wakes up we co-sleep.  It works out fine for us. We don't mind it at all.

  • We are still bedsharing at 1yr.  I have half a mind to move her, and the other not.  Confused
  • We do.  DS starts the night in his room but when he wakes in the middle of the night (1am and later) we bring him into bed with us.  I didn't think we'd be bedsharing at this age but I also thought he'd be STTN Sleep

  • We bedshare and DD is still with us at nearly 16 months.

I don't know exactly when we'll try to switch her to a toddler bed, but we aren't in any hurry.

Its probably easier to keep him in your room if you are still soothing him at night.. We moved him after we did CIO when he finally started sleeping through the night.

This. And currently she's sleeping in her PNP in our room because we live in a 3rd floor apartment and it gets REALLY hot in here and and the a/c window unit is in our room. I don't want her to get hot in her room, so she's in ours.

This exactly is the same for us.

  • We're still bedsharing with no plans to change.
  • DD is almost 2 and she is still sleeping with us.  I have thought about moving her into her toddler bed, which is in my room a few times but I am just not comfortable enough to do that yet.  I like having her near me and being able to hear her breathing.  I don't like the fact that she is a bed hog though!
