Which fold are you using for your newborn?

I was looking at this page:

https://www.theecofriendlyfamily.com/2009/08/prefold-picture-tutorial.html

And just wondered what fold other use most/find most effective for their newborn? I know that much of that depends on the size and build of each individual baby, but I am still curious.

I haven't actually gotten to use our CD yet, but I've been practicing on a teddybear, LOL. I think that for when LO is still really small, the newspaper fold may work just because it's a little smaller. Other than that, the angel fold seems easiest/most effective.  But I'm not sure if it would be very absorbent. I feel silly putting so much thought into this, but it's not like I have anything else to do LOL!!

So, what style fold do you use, and why?

  • I am curious to know what fold everyone uses as well.  Thanks for asking.

  • I used the angel wing fold on LO when he was new. I loved it! No when I use them (which isn't often) I use the bikini twist. I only switched because these prefolds are a little too big. The twist takes up a little more fabric so I don't have to fold it down. I'll go back to angel wing when he gets a little bigger.
  • I still only use angle fold... though I moved up to the bigger prefold so I could try something else but I have to go back to youtube to watch them again. just make sure the legs are snug or you'll get poop on the cover.
  • Angel Wing.

Sometimes in the middle of the night I would get lazy and just lay the PF trifolded into the cover and put it on her.. worked most of the time. But angel wing was definitely the go-to method.

  • We did angel wing fold and still do.  It was the easiest for both of us.  The fold really isn't going to change absorbency that much, if at all.  Just make sure you get it snug around the legs to help prevent poop leaking onto the cover.  That's kind of hard to avoid with BF poop though.

  • I prefer the jellyroll fold.

  • I think the angel wing is really popular, but the jelly roll will hold in nb poo unlike the rest.
