Are we sisters?  I copied your post about childcare in the toddler check-in. My parents are exactly like yours.  They never offer to babysit and I get a long pause on the other end of the phone when I ask them to watch the girls.  And they remind us they go to bed at 9 when we do drop them off.

We had a choice between a job close to our family and one 3 hours away. We are really regretting taking the job so close to family.  They just don't help or offer to see us as much as we thought they would.  It's kind of sad.

We loved living in the mountains of Utah, but heard that it's miserable having kids far from family. So we moved home.

Stupid stupid stupid.

I know they adore her, but they certainly have an entitled tood' about watching her. If it's not 100% on their terms, fuggitabuddit.

You bring those dollies to MY house. we'll have a blast. And you may stay out until 11pm if you choose. het het.

Sounds good. Next time we are in Minneapolis, we will have to hook up. You know people from Iowa are always visiting the Twin Cities.

My latest beef with my mom: she forgot to email be about my sister's surprise birthday party last weekend!  We found out when my FIL remarked that the baby in the invite looked like Carly.  I was so very hurt.  We are in NC for the summer and I really felt like out of sight, out of mind.  My mom never calls or emails and then tells me she isn't seeing enough pictures of the kids on Facebook.  Hello-the phone and computer work both ways!

Whew-it felt gooood to get that off my chest!

Yes! let me know next time you're around here - I'm always anxious to click on some new kids, and you know we have a rather large mall here... lol...
