Looks like we're moving...

but just to on-post. We redid our budget and it is going to be the best move for us financially and it is much closer to DH's job so it should work out just fine. We were nosey yesterday and checking out the neighborhood and found a vacant house so we peeked in all the windows. They are older homes but newly renovated. They are pretty nice so I'm happy about that. And bonus, I met another SAHM in the neighborhood and she showed me her house inside! She let me tour her house! How cool is that? Oh and did I mention that the housing office here won't let you tour your house before you accept it? That is why I was so excited to see the inside of one of these houses. The Army's definition of renovated =/= my definition all the time so I was concerned. However, they look like they are in great condition and will work for us nicely. And they have a lot of storage space.

    There are yards, but not fenced. There is a park in the neighborhood though so I could walk with the kiddos there. And tehre is a path to the lake there too as a bonus. The house we looked at yesterday backs trees (no houses behind it) and I kind of hope that is the one we get.

    Moving is pretty rough, but that sounds good though! That was so nice of her togive you the tour!  I know on base can go either way... I've seen some NICE places and some pretty beat up ones, so I'm glad this one looks to be a good fit for you guys!! YAY!

    I'm glad you found a solution that works for you.  You'll adjust to less space.  We have a 1200 sq. ft. house and it's fine.  Most of the area went to the main areas so the three bedrooms are small, but doable!

    Congrats! I live in McChord housing and it's not that bad, but totally not worth what they're taking from BAH. Glad you were able to tour the inside :)
