TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Update on my appt yesterday.......

We are starting preparation for IVF with ICSI...............according to the RE, injectibles with IUI would put me at too great a risk for multiples due to the PCOS  (Im going to look into this because I have never heard of it) and he said he wouldn't be acting responsibely if he were to give me an IUI with say 5 mature follies...........He says the major factor is that it has been yet another year and we are still not pg and my dh came back with two SA with 1% morphology.........He is making an appointment with a Urologist and I have to have an SHG done next week so that we are in compliance with the insurance companies requirements.  Upon approval of the insurance company we will hopefully be moving forward with this process and by Septemeber we may be ready for our first round of IVF.   The RE will only implant me with one embryo because I am under 35 and he will implant it low vs deep to try to avoid another cornual ep, which I felt better about......so all in all it was pretty much the outcome I was expecting and Im feeling hopeful that this will work....

  • That sounds like a great plan.  I think his reasoning for IVF vs. IUI makes sense since you have much more control over the number of embryos.  I think I read something (maybe on the IF board?) that PCOS patients are very good candidates for IVF because they do tend to produce a lot of follies - don't quote me on that though.  We could end up on a similar timetable if I do IVF too.  Good luck with the testing!
