Surface Wash Only

My son has a few stuffed animals that say "surface wash only".  Do you think I would really ruin them if I put them through the gentle cycle and wrap them in a pillow case?  I feel like some of them are a bit too grungy to pass a surface wash only test.

Re: Surface Wash Only

  • Absolutely. To me, that's just a suggestion, not a rule--especially considering my kid likes to chew on their faces and ears..hehe. :-) Several of DD's favorite stuffed animals have made the trip through the wash, and some through the dryer. I didn't put them in a pillow case to wash--just washed them in cold on the delicate cycle. Often times I'll put them in the dryer on low for 15 minutes or so to fluff them back up, then let them air dry the rest of the way. So far, they've all survived just fine!

  • That's how I do all of ours. I don't use a pillow case either. They look so nice when they come out!

  • I throw them in the wash too. and sometimes even the dryer. the only ones I don't but in the dryer are the ones that are like beanies b/c I'm afraid the beanies things inside will melt.
