Since I am about to start taking Met, I'm very curious as to other peoples response to it since I have heard so many conflicting reports. Thanks ladies [Poll]
After 1 month, my period came on its own. Over the course of 4 months, my cycle went from 45 days to 30 days, but I was never able to confirm ovulation.
Good luck!
Wow, that is amazing in and of itself. I'd be pretty happy with that kind of result! I cant imagine my period ever coming on its own.

I was psyched when AF came on her own! I wasn't temping initially so I don't know if I ovulated, but it felt great to actually cycle. I went off Met a couple of months ago, but I am actually planning to start it again. It helped me with weight stuff and I'm hoping I can get my period even on our break.
The weight stuff would be nice too
GL getting back on the Met and I hope you get a period! Its the simple things in life right? haha
I voted SS since I take it for diabetes not PCOS. Since my cycles are regular it's just suppose to regulate my blood sugar levels and my reg. doc said "well it can't hurt with trying to get PG". I'm somewhere around month five of taking it.
I hope it gets you into a nice regular cycle, I saw your post about 200+ cycle - ouch! Good Luck!!
It hasn't fixed my cycles, but it didn't take me long to feel better in general. I felt less hungry and less swollen. I don't know how much weight I lost, if any, but clothes fit better and my face and belly slimmed.

Well that is still a good thing, right? I suppose any improvement is better than no improvement at all.

Crazy, right? The one after that was 125+ days. Now, I am taking Provera every 45-60 days. I never knew how bad for it is for you to not shed the lining. Oops
My last two cycles were 28 days and 29 days. Big improvement from 35+. Side effects subsided about two -three weeks after I started it, although I still have some fatigue here and there. I can even tolerate occasional sugar and a glass of wine here and there.

I'm a little late, but I wanted to give you some encouragement. I've been on Met since the beginning of May and right away it got my cycles back on track. I was having 45-60 day cycles and now I'm back to 30-33ish day cycles, but have yet to ovulate (despite what FF thinks). I have lost a little weight, but I also switched to a low carb diet to help the Met. I've had the diarrhea problems since I started it, its not everyday now like it used to be, but still a few times a week, that's been the worst for me! Good luck!!
I've been on 2000mg of met for three and a half months now. The first month was incredibly brutal. If there's a side effect listed, I had it... and then some. I couldn't leave the house for week 3 because of trips to the restroom. I've tapered into a steady dose and doing well, only having side effects on occasion. I have no issues having carbs or sugars, though my appetite has decreased significantly. I'm also more aware of when and how much I need to eat during the day.
I started taking Met the month I came off of BCP and had a regular 28-day cycle that first month for the first time in my entire life. All other non-BCP cycles were at least 60 days. I had 4 cycles during HS and maybe 6 or 7 in undergrad.
I was diagnosed with PCOS 14 years ago on my first trip to the OB/GYN. If we aren't pregnant next month, my regular endo will be referring us to an RE.

Tater Tot arrived 6/21/11 on his Great Grandmother's 90th Birthday
In the first month, I noticed I had a TON more energy and just felt better overall. It took 4 months to get my period but since my first, my cycles have ranged between 29 and 36 days. Also, without making much of a change in diet and exercise, I lost about 20 lbs...basically my metabolism/body woke up or something!
