DS picky about breakfast...ideas for foods?

DS has been on a picky streak for food lately. Well, maybe not picky, just not wanting to eat much. I think he's getting more teeth in but I am running out of ideas. We do eggs, pancakes occassionally, oatmeal, cream of wheat when DH is home, cereal (which is not his fav...unless it is mine and it's in milk)....I just don't know.

Anyone else go through a phase where they don't eat much? Like I said, I think it's his teeth!

  • Breakfast is the only real meal DS eats each day. He has his sippy of milk, 1/2 banana, and I've been buying Earth's Best frozen waffles (homestyle or blueberry) and their french toast sticks. DS will only eat about 1/4 of either one but he does seem to like it.

  • We always give DS a YoBaby yogurt in the morning.  He loves them and the pedi recommended it.
  • French toast, frittatas, quiche, waffles, bread (DD1 loves bread), lightly toasted w/cream cheese & fruit spread, a 'Japanese pancake' (1/2c flour, 1/2c milk, 2 eggs, blend, pour into pie dish w/melted butter at the bottom, sprinkle top with ground nutmeg, bake at 350* for ~30mins, until fluffy w/golden edge)...

Sometimes just cottage cheese or Greek yogurt (higher protein than regular yogurt) and fresh fruit, a yogurt pop (plain or vanilla yogurt with mushed fresh or frozen fruit blended in)... DD1 loves pancakes-- plain, with fruit, syrup or fruit spread, whatever-- they're her favorite.

  • Lately all my kid will eat for breakfast is oatmeal with whole milk and some fruit.  She has that every single morning.  She also is teething, and doesn't always want to eat.  But, if I can get a few tablespoons of oatmeal in her I feel good about it.

She really loves nectarines.  I just discovered this.

  • DD isn't fond of breakfast either, but i find that if I let her help me make the eggs, pancakes, french toast, etc., she's much more likely to eat it.  Or a few bites, at least.

  • Eggo waffles

    fruit, especially strawberries and bananas

Danonino yogurt (I give him the little cup and let him have at it)

Fiber One bars (yes, he loves them!)

    muffins

pop-tarts (sometimes he'll eat them, sometimes he won't)

  • Jake used to be all about bagels and toast, now he's bored of it.

We've been doing oatmeal with pretty good success.  He does eat at breakfast, but he's definitely a lunch eater, he just gobbles down then.

DS's breakfast consists of a large bowl of fruit.  He loves it.

We generally do frozen waffles or pancakes, cereal bars, DH sometimes makes eggs (DDs are iffy), cheese, sometimes a slice of lunchmeat, and always some type of fruit.  I should try more yogurt and such, but it's hard feeding two and they aren't always into it.  They also seem to like french toast when we've done it and they like sweet potato pancakes when we go out to our favorite breakfast place.  Daycare does a bunch of different stuff including cinnamon toast, oatmeal, grits, muffins, breakfast pie (not sure what it is exactly), different kinds of cold cereal, waffles, pancakes, and french toast.
