Trouble TTC

Grrrrr... DH!

So my Lap is in 2 days and while I was saying that I had to tell my mom everything our IF and that I was having the surgery done, DH was saying that he didn't see any reason for us to tell his mother.

My ILs have been good enough to go over to our house and walk Lily EVERY DAY since we got her that DH and I are working, so that her little puppy bladder doesn't need to try to hold it in for 5-6 hours during the day.

So, I was just asking DH what we're going to be telling his folks is the reason that I'm home both Thurs & Fri. His answer: "I was thinking about that... you have to tell them."  So now I have to tell my ILs.

Do you guys think I could just say that I might have endo and they have to do the Lap, without explaining all of the IF stuff?

  • Tell them what you are comfortable with and pray they don't ask additional questions :)  Best of luck.

  • I agree with heather...tell them what you're comfortable with; and if you don't want to go into the IF stuff - permission granted to feel free to accidentally omit it.   GL with the IL conversation.

  • That's what I'm going to try to do but my MIL asks a million questions and looks up EVERYTHING now that she's learned how to on the computer.

Is this done for non-IF reasons as well?

  • I am not telling my parents just because I know they will completely freak out about me going under and then they will consistently be on my case afterwards about all issues IF. Fortunately, they are 3000 miles away.

Can you just tell them that you are not feeling well and have a stomach ache or something? If they want to baby you, just say you need rest and leave it at that.

This, and yes the lap is done for other reasons. I had one done 4 years ago before even TTC because I had extremely painful periods. They were ruling out endometriosis.

  • Thanks girls, I think I'd rather lie and say I have painful periods as the reasoning behind the surgery.
