Embarrassing question about my son's small "package"

No flames please....this is a serious question. I'm really worried about it. (Although writing this does make me giggle like a 10 year old.)

 My son is 1 year old and I'm worried about his small .....um, package. He's got the tiniest little peen and his scrotum is so small. It reminds me of a little peanut. I mentioned his peen size to his doctor around the 9 month check-up and he said something like, "Oh, he just has a lot of fat around that area....he's fine." The doc didn't mention anything about it at the 12 month check-up. Now, he's my 1st child and I don't have much experience with baby boys, so I don't know what's normal and what's not. But this past weekend I was watching my friend change her 3 month old son's diaper and his scrotum was, like, 3 times bigger than my son's! So, now I'm really worried. Like, I'm trying not to cry writing this. And I feel silly comparing his package size to other boys, but I feel like something might be wrong w/ him.

Any thoughts or experiences. I feel so dumb bringing this up to the doctor. And for the record, my son is a BIG boy. 99% percentile in height and weight.

no flames here. my DS is 50% height and 25% weight so he's smaller...but he's got a smaller pee pee than I would have thought.  I would think it would be proporational but it's not. 

Honestly, I'm not worried about it...i mean, if he goes through life with a smaller pee pee...so what?  there are a LOT worse things!  Plus, if he does have a lot of fat down there, that could be making it seem smaller than it is.  Also, you never know how it will grow with the rest of him.

I seriously would not worry about this one.

Yes, this is a serious question! What is so wrong w/ asking? If my son had a finger that didn't look normal, I'd ask. This just happens to be his penis. But again, I'm not sure what is normal looking for 12 month old boys. But compared to my cousin (who I've changed before) and my friend's 3 month old, it just seems super-tiny and I'm wondering if something could be wrong. It just seems disproportionate.  I know it's a silly question, but again....if his ears seemed smaller I'd worry about that, too.

Aww, don't worry about it! He will be just fine. Don't feel silly asking your ped about it- that's what they are there for. I'm sure someone else has asked the same question. My son has a lot of "fat" around his penis too so it looks a little smaller. But my ped said not to worry about it.. as he grows.. it will grow too.

depending on when you saw the "package" of friends baby determines the size. DS's ranges in sizes daily depending on how cold or warm he is. sometimes its real tiny like smaller then a shelled walnut and other days its just hanging free close to double the size.  I think at this age you really should worry about it.

I worry sometimes too about my DS's size. But I remember watching one of those human sexuality shows on Discovery or something one time that said that the smaller the p the more room it has to grow during arousal. So "looking" smaller may not have anthing to do with what its size may be during arousal.

I don't understand how this is a question.  There is nothing you can do about a small penis.  He'll just have to deal with it.
