PCSing and orders

We are PCSing to Fort Rucker with DH for flight school in early October. We are National Guard so this is a new experience. We got our dates in late April but we still don't have orders. When should we expect to get orders? I'm a little nervous because we already put notice in on our house and DH has the field training portion of his state WOC school coming up. I was thinking of quitting my job before that so I can stay home with DS but I can't if I don't know for sure that we will be leaving in short order after his return.

We're AD so I'm not entirely sure how things work in the Guard, but in my experience orders usually arrive at most a few weeks before a PCS.

You can get extensions on the 30 day notice. You can also get an exception to policy. We had to get an ETP because I'm still dealing with stuff that keeps me here while DH is gone.
