yesterday Evie did not wear a diaper at all. She also did not poop.
When I was putting her to bed, at first she didn't want a diaper, but then she bumped her head and cried and said she wanted a diaper. While I was holding her, I noticed she was warm. I could not find the thermometer, so I tried to keep her cool and put her to bed. She was obviously kind of out of it, she feel asleep very quickly.
When I checked on her before I went to bed at 10:30, she was burning up and her heart was racing. I brought her to bed with me and finally found a thermometer. She had 102.3. Her fever broke overnight, but all day today she keeps saying "I don't feel good".
Do you think its because she held her poop yesterday? She finally pooped today. She told me her teeth hurt, but all of her teeth are in. I take what she tells me with a grain of salt anyhow.
Re: What do you think?
I think they could be related, but not in the way you're saying; I don't think her not pooping caused the fever. HC has a low-grade fever today as part of the latest nasty-Florida-induced-cold, and for the past couple of days her poops have been fewer and farther between (we're not actively toilet training yet, btw). I think it's just a general slowing-down of the excretion of liquids your body would normally eliminate; something about retaining as much fluid as possible in order to bulk up against oncoming illness or stress (much like retaining fluids right before you give birth, eh?), just in case you can't manage to take in any. Or I could be full of crap. Pun intended. :P
Hope Miss Evie feels better soon; our family should seriously have bought stock in Kleenex last year--we'd be millionaires now just off our own purchases!!!
She's feeling better today and her fever is down. (TMI time): She did end up pooping once and it was hard. Then after that she pooped again it was a big stinky poo.
I wonder if she had a little blockage that backed her up and when she finally got that out of the way was able to poop at Evie caliber again.
She didn't seem uncomfortable at all yesterday, though.
She hasn't eaten much the last two days either. She was on a good streak, too. *sigh*
