BR: Antibiotic question (for me)

 I have had a sinus infection and started with ammoxicillan, which didn't work, so they switched me to Augmentin last Thursday.

I was happy because I only had to take Augmentin one time a day verses three times with Ammox. I was wrong. Somehow I read the container wrong and am supposed to take it 3 times a day for 10 days. I have taken it one time a day for 5 days. Oops.

So what should I do? Start taking it 3 times a day until it is gone?

Call the Dr?

Take it 3 times a day for the next 5 days?

Strangely enough, the one time a day dose cleared it up for me.

I would call the doctor, personally, but I'm a little paranoid about doing things wit medicine without a doctor's advice (I'm definitely not the person that takes other people's prescription medications!).

What strength is it? I would take it at least three times a day for the next 5 and then give your dr a call sometime in there to see what he wants you to do. Personally, since you already had some amoxilcillin you are probably fine to stop in 5 days. Since I am just a lowly pharmacist ;-) you still should ask Mr MD. Good luck!

They are 500 mg tablets.

If it was me, I'd put a call in to my doctor and just explain everything to them and see what they want me to do.
