Mondays pretty much always suck, but something tells me that I should have made this past Friday my last day in the office. Last night I was up half the night with heartburn (which is not out of the ordinary) and I was out of Zantac so I couldn't get relief. Now my throat is killing me because it was so gross and I was coughing so much. (At least I hope that's what's going on and not that I'm getting sick.)
As you know I take the regional rail train into work every day. The trains come in underground and then you walk up steps into the station before actually coming outside. Guess who fell coming up from the platform? Yup, the big fat pregnant girl. I didn't trip or anything. I think it was just the weight that pulled me down. I had my laptop bag and my purse, which is super heavy because I have all my regular purse stuff, plus a book, my breakfast, lunch, etc. As if falling in the middle of a staircase surrounded by hundreds of people during rush hour isn't embarassing enough, I have to worried about falling because I'm 9 months pregnant.
Something tells me this is going to be a LONG week. God help the first person that gets on my nerves at work today...I'm ready for maternity leave to start!
Re: Not a good start to the week
I'm sorry! Big hugs!!!
Is there any way you can bump up the date of your maternity leave, other than the baby coming ofc? If you only have a limited amount of maternity leave though, you will be very grateful you worked this week and that you get one more week on the other end with your LO (which I am convinced is a BOY!)
That's exactly why I'm torturing myself by working up until the end. I'm only taking 12 weeks and I want to take them all when I have a baby to hang out with. I probably would have tried to work this week from home, but my boss went and took vacation this week (which makes me have double the work) knowing that she won't be able to take time off once I'm gone. We try to make it that at least one of us is in the office at all times. I can't really complain too much since she's covering for me while I'm off, but I just wish she didn't force me in to this situation the week before I'm due. If the baby happens to show up this week, there is obviously nothing I can do about it. Hurry up, Baby!!
That sucks!
::Hugs::
Oh no! Take care of yourself and go slowly...at this point in the game we get so off balance on our feet.
I hope your week gets better from here on in!
OH NO!
I agree -treat yourself -- there is a place in the Gallery/ Market East right near the stairs to the trains - it smells like popcorn - and they sell the best truffles. All kinds of yummy flavors. I used to love taking the train just so I could get some of those. So I vote you treat yourself to some of those.
I get off at Suburban so Market East is a bit of a hike for me. But I think I may stop in the Godiva store in the Comcast building that is right across the street from me for some truffles, if you girls insist.
Oh, we insist!
