rooftop storage you can rec?

i have a roof rack on my full sized SUV and am looking for one of those storage dealies that you strap on your roof so we can make a trip to the cape with all our stuff, the cats and their stuff, and now the baby and all that stuff and do it in one car.

anyone have one you like/hate?  do you know where you got it and how much it cost?

We do not have a roof rack and it still works.  My only advice is to make sure the straps are plenty tight because it slid backwards the first time we used it.  It was still on the roof and secure, etc, but it had just moved.  DH was able to tighten it at a gas station or something.  No biggie.

I've used and liked Thules.

We have a large Thule bag which works for us because it's easy to install/uninstall, stores compactly, and fits a TON of stuff (think: camping gear for four people).

FWIW, we also have a Thule bike rack and kayak rack system and both are quality products. Can't go wrong with them.

The Thule here.  Works well and we haven't had any issues the few times we've used it so far.  Got something cheaper before we tried it, and it just didn't fit on our car.
