toddler puzzles...

Brandon LOVES puzzles.  We own 9 wooden puzzles that have anywhere from 4-9 pieces.  He has mastered them.  What's next???  I don't want him to get bored with the ones he's been doing repeatedly.  He's at the point now where I put 3 different puzzles that are all vehicles, and he can put the pieces in the right puzzle pretty quickly.  I don't think he's quite ready for the 25 piece jigsaw type, but I want something a little more challenging than what we're doing...   And where did you buy them?

Re: toddler puzzles...

  • DS has a wooden puzzle from Melissa and Doug that's about 12 pieces and he does well with it when we do it together.  He has one, same brand, at my mom's that's bigger and he likes it too.  He also has 2 M & D floor puzzles...The fire truck is tougher but he likes to help us.  The alphabet train is cute because each piece is a car with a letter, so you have to put the letters together in order.

  • I have bought several cool items from a website called fatbraintoys.com. they have EVERY creative toy you can think of for every age.
  • A saw some 4-piece cardboard toddler jigsaw puzzles with all the other puzzles in Target yesterday. There were a couple in the pack for about $2.50. They were pretty cheap looking, but maybe as something just to try they'd be worth it.

  • ANYTHING Melissa and Doug is awesome! I own several for my daycare. It's hard finding them in stores (at least for me)...the funny thing is that there is a whole "store" at Trader's World's that carries them. I ordered all mine off of Amazon before I found them there.

  • Logan has this puzzle.  I think we actually got it at a Kroger Marketplace.  It's 9 pieces and he LOVES it.

  • We love the Melissa and Doug puzzles here too.  We are giving Brenna two of them for her birthday.  We just bought M&D wooden play food for her while on vacation, and she adores them.  I really like that brand.
