I also had a positive ffn.  The contrax have stopped and the irritability that went with it.  I am also a fingertip dilated as well.  Hopefully i will get moved to another room after the mag is stopped this afternoon and i will get some of these gadgets off my arms.  Then it is wait and see.  I could be here a few days, weeks, months.  It all depends i guess?

When the OB did the internal and found out i was a finger tip coupled with the irritability he decided to put me on mag.  The FFn was the icing on the cake.  That and some new contractions had me on my way to the hospital that has a NICU for micro preemies.  

The resident that saw me said that my fingertip dilated cervix didn't concern her that much because of my previous pregnancy and sometimes it doesn't go back to normal.....but who knows?

Good luck!  I hope that we can cook these babies longer!!!!  I think it is great we found out so early and can keep a better watch on things now. Thank heavens we had great mommy instinct.  Keep me posted on your next appt.  Will they repeat an FFN once it is positive?  LIke  can it go back to being negative? 

I had mag with my DD at 34 weeks (not nearly as much of a concern) but it did stop everything (and i was 3 cm dilated at that point contracting regularly) and i went on to deliver her at 36w6 day-no NICU.  And that was only because i got the go ahead to get off of bedrest a day or two before.

well im' glad things seem to be slowing down for you!!!  I'm sorry you're going through this but its nice to have someone to talk to to who is experiencing same things. sounds rather selfish doesn't it i dont' mean it to be that way.

From what I remember of seeing the MFM at the hospital...sounds like we will be repeating the FFN test every couple of weeks and i'll see her every week for cervical u/s.   so i guess it CAN go back to being neg?  

I hope you get to at least get home soon....it sucks being hooked up to all those devices....that tethered feeling is aweful..but so is being home and knowing i COULD get up and do things...and that its beautiful outside...grr

oh well...here's to us and keeping our babies nice and healhty in us as long as possible!!!!
