IUI question.

Did you rest the day of your Inseminations? I was planning on going back to work as we are doing 2 back to back and I am already at negative 20 vacation days for the year. I was just sent an invitation to go out to dinner the night we have the first one...do you think I should plan on going home and laying down instead of going out to eat?

I had asked about post IUI activities. I work at a desk (all damn day) so I didn't think sitting around would cause a problem. I just think rigorous activities should be avoided, but that's about it.

My RE only told me to refrain from bouncing type activities like running for a few days.

I was supposed to get one tomorrow and had planned to go hang out with my mom afterwards. Like pp said, I think it's just strenuous activities.

Definitely don't let an IUI stop you from enjoying a dinner out!  I felt a bit crampy after my IUI's, but nothing that would have prevented me from going out, shopping, hanging out with friends, etc.  Have fun!!

I always went back to work. (unless it fell on a weekend - then I kicked it watching TV)

I was planning on coming into work after the first IUI but I was in terrible pain. I knew not to even try it for the second IUI, and I was right because I was in even worse pain the second time.  I seem to be in the minority though.

I went to work after mine but I didn't work out or do anything vigorous.

I was told, "No restrictions whatsoever."  Having said that, I have a pretty physical job and would have gone back to work (can't say I wouldn't worry), but both of mine have happened on a day off. 

 I say go enjoy your evening out.  Good luck!
