Anytime you are comfortable. Only egg noodles are made with egg, regular pasta you buy in a box does not have it as an ingredient. Egg noodles are usually made with yolks only so they should be safe as well. I don't remember when DD got pasta, certainly we were eating macaroni and cheese by 10 months so she must have had it before.
I don't remember when I gave the boys pasta but I remember it being sooner rather than later and both of them loved it then and still love it. It was also easy for both of them to eat, especially if I overcooked it a little.
Our pediatrician specifically mentioned pasta at our nine month appointment as something to try with DS. (She suggested rotini cut into three pieces.) I probably tried it with him for the first time around ten months. He hasn't really be into it, though.
Unless you have reason to suspect your DS may have wheat or gluten issues, I think you're in the right age range to try some pasta. If you haven't otherwise introduced wheat yet, though, I wouldn't introduce anything else new with the pasta (maybe just put butter on it rather than tomato sauce if he hasn't had tomatoes yet). Re: pasta for DS?
I have given DS alphabet pasta with veggies a few times with no ill effects. It was nice finger food, and educational
Agreed. We did pasta pretty early. In little pieces, it makes great finger food.
DD LOVES pasta! Plain, with butter, with sauce, mixed with veggies... all sorts of ways.
We gave it to her early. Probably around 8'ish months (but, I don't recall exactly). It was really one of the first "real" solids that she had.
