My son will start 3K in September. He'll just be 3 a month earlier, so he's young for his class. They have to be fully potty trained, meaning NO assistance at all from the teacher. He's been potty trained since February and has done great. I'm not worried about accidents. He was in MMO last year and did great even there as soon as he was trained. But they helped.
What I"m worried about is him pulling his pants back up! I finally got him to stop stripping off his pants and underwear completly. And he's now good at getting them down to his ankles so he doesn't accidentally pee on them at his knees. But pulling them up is a problem. I've got him pulling them up past his knees then reaching around in back to pull up the rest, but he never gets it all the way right. They are all jumpled up or the shorts are up and the undies are all twisted....ugh! Who knew this would be the toughest part of potty training for us????
What undies are good for this? He's in the 2T/3T Hanes character underwear. Should I move him up a size in hopes they are not as tight? A friend suggested just letting him run around in cotton shorts all summer to learn. That's fine, but he needs to learn to pull up the underwear too. Help!
Re: How do I teach my son to pull up his pants????
just like everything else - practice practice practice!! When Olivia was learning, I would watch and give her verbal tips on what to do, but kept physical helping to a minimum. They just have to learn how to move their bodies/hands to get things back to where they are supposed to be.
I can't imagine that the teachers at school won't re-adjust him though if he has mostly put on his clothes.
