Need help/tips with Cloth Diapering

I was recommended to post this here and you ladies might be able to help me and give me some good pointers.  

 

My husband and I are awaiting our first bundle and are thinking of giving cloth diapering a try.  I haven't looked a ton into it yet, but found alot of information (and positive) on Fuzzibuns.  Are any of you going to cloth diaper and if so what brands are you going to use and why?  I also am not sure of where to put the "soiled" inserts while waiting for there to be enough to have a load to do laundry. Do they make a such thing as a "diaper pail"?  I wanted to register for some diapers but was not sure how many would be sufficient or how many of each size?  Does anyone have any suggestions or helpful tips that would be useful to me?  Thanks so much ladies, hope everyone is staying cool!

I use fuzzi buns and bumgenius mostly. There is a lot of info on CDing available online, some good resources are pinstripesandpolkadots.com and jilliansdrawers.com. Jillians drawers also does a trial where you can try out several different kinds and see what you like. About 16-18 newborn size diapers will work if you do laundry every day, then about 20-24 will probably be enough to wash every other day after the newborn phase. Most people say not to wash less than every other day. We keep our dirty diapers in a flip top trash can with a planet wise liner. HTH and good luck!

I just posted about how I "hastily" switched to cloth - about 6 weeks ago. We use almost exclusively BG3.0 and I like them just fine. No problems, but have since found out about some less expensive options (Nubunz, kawaii, and I'm sure others). I don't keep them in a diaper pail, though you can buy liners (https://nickisdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=369). I just use a larger size wetbag at daycare and at home (https://nickisdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=1183). They fit an entire day's worth of diapers (and then some) and I wash every 2 days...sometimes I wash midday on the third day. Good luck!
