So.. met with Dr. Sassy today, and love him even more. And his staff. I'm ALMOST ready to trust him. lol. We're broke, but we don't care. Davez looks at me and says "I'm weeping on the inside, but I'm happy we're doing this right." Poor dude. Let's face it.. the man must love me an AWFUL LOT to give up a huge chunk of his savings like this. I'm humbled.
We're wasting no time with stims starting 1st week of Aug. and tenative retrival set for Aug 18. Whoopie!
He's doing a different protocol than I did in CR (antagonist there) but what's it called? BCP, Lupron, then menopur & gonal, and he's going to "throw the book at me as well" with doxy, flagyl, lovenox, estrace, HCG, PIO, and endometrin. Is this just the "lupron protocol" or what? And if you've done it, tell me about it. (why choose this, etc.)
My gonal dose is double what I'd do for injectible/IUI's... 300iu. Wowza.
So I'm excited. Nervous. The whole drill, you know what I'm talking about.
But game on. Whoopie! once again.

Sounds like you are doing the long lupron/standard down regulation protocol. Very common - what I did for both of my IVF cycles. I stimmed with Follistim and Menopur, but the actual dosages changed daily based on my e2.
This protocol works by completely suppressing the ovaries then kickstarting them and letting the RE be in complete control of your e2 levels (since after bcp and lupron, it is practically 0).
You must be on bcp now, yes?
*SO* excited for you mama!! Giddyup!!!!
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
Good to hear! And did I read that you might need menopur?... <<< off to email you back
>>>
Yeah! let me know how it goes! You're an ambitious momma - what a joy it must be with those little ones and then throwing another into the mix---- so envious! I would have loved to have a few close together! GL on the sono, it'll be just fine ! ;-)
ps - to whomever asked... yes, I've been on BCP for a while. This particular pack of tiny pills was invented by the devil himself. Man, they are ROTTEN!
Hmmm- this sounds very similar to my original protocol...except while on BCPs and Lupron, I continued to ovulate anyway, so I had to trigger that damn follie out, wait for AF and immediately start on Ganerelix (a different type of supressor). I did Menopur and follistim. We were BOTH required to take the Doxy (no flagyl or lovenox). I did take the estrace, HCG trigger, PIO and endometrin (which after 3 days I begged to return to the PIO). I am pretty sure this would be a lupron protocol, but I have no idea if I am telling the truth ;-)
Good luck my friend!! We'll be here to talk you through it!!
Yea!
Sounds a lot like my protocol, I think it's the most common one--long lupron, I think. I started with 300 of stims too--225 gonal and 75 menopur. We did doxy (both of us) and I took a steroid too right around transfer time.
This is exciting!
