Well...since I'm home on bed rest..and a little bored...how about a PIP day?
What was your favorite candy as a kid? Hopefully you all liked candy.

growing up we had this great mom 'n pop store up the street that had a whole aisle full of penny and nickle candy!
Why are you on bed rest? What did I miss?

I posted the other day...I have some really HUGE cysts on my ovaries that are causing incredible pain; sort of weird since I haven't stimmed since May. But the RE wants me to lay low until Sunday...no work, no exercise, pretty much nada!
Anyone remember Fruit Stripe gum? It had a zebra on the package??

I love fruit striped candy and those round wafer thingies (what were they called?).
Remember the urban legend that that one kid from that commercial (LOL I'm full of useful info...wait was it MIkey?) died because he ate pop rocks and drank a coke?? Was that how it went?
Well how did I miss this? I'm sorry I hope they are getting better and less painful. Bed rest doesn't sound so bad though, not in this God forsaken heat we have going on here, better than being outside!

Oh yeah...I do remember that urban legend about Mikey (from the Life cereal commercials) and that he drank a coke with them and died!
OMG...did anyone else buy/eat these?? We thought we were so cool because it was gum surrounded by powder, so when you blew from your mouth the 'smoke' would come out the end of the candy cig.....too funny!!!

I do remember these! Can't remember what they tasted like...but definitely remember the wax bottles! too funny!
YES...they were sort of sour and fizzed in your mouth...I think the whole candy was fizzy, not just the center....maybe???
what about Chuckles Jelly candies? Sort of reminded me of those jelly gum drops...only bigger!
Yeah those fizz thingies had a heavenly (well to a child) fizzy center. The wax bottles had a juicy fruity liquid center.
*sigh*
I don't really remember chuckles but I wasn't a huge fan of those gum drops they were like cement to my teeth.
I used to always find these in my halloween stash. I didn't eat them but they were fun!
I loved the root beer flavored caps.
My absolute favorite was just plain cherry flavored Lifesavers. I could eat an entire tube of cherry ones!
yessss! loved lifesavers! Don't know if I was partial to just one flavor! LOL!
loved bottle caps too! hmm...it's a wonder I didn't end up with more cavities as a kid! LOL!
side note: the hubs on occasion buys a big bag of various wonka candy and bottle caps are in there....they DO NOT taste the same as I remember them; must have to be under the age of 15 to enjoy them! HAHA
Here's one for the hubs...he LOVES pez candy...don't know if you ladies remember when we PIPd our wedding cakes (well, we had cupcakes instead of a cake) and we had the pez bride and groom as our toppers....oh, yes we did!
Oh yeah....loved those tootsie pops too!
the hubs loves Spree candy! I honestly cannot remember eating Spree, I know, surprising since it looks like my entire diet as a kid was candy!! LOL!!

One of my favorite candies was candy cigarettes. I thought they were cool when I was 5.

I was having a hard time remembering them...thanks for the PIP...I was a fan of these too! I know, big surprise. HAHA
These were another one of my faves....my grandpa always had these on hand when us kids came for a visit...I apparently ate sooo many, he would always say that I was full of malt balls...instead of being full of bologna - which was another favorite!

Ahh, Whoppers, my mom actually put some in stocking this year for Christmas, I still love thm!!!
I remember loving fun dip! Nothing like taking a stick made of sugar and dipping it in more sugar, then eating the sugar stick. This brings back memories of my grandma
In highschool I ate a snickers, a bag of Doritos and a Pepsie every day

Funny you mention Doritos & Pepsi...me and my high school BFF did this just about every day too!! It was usually Cool Ranch Doritos.
No PIP (I don't know how) but I loved, loved, loved Hubba Bubba raspberry bubble gum. The grape flavor was wonderful too.
On a side note, Chi Chi's restaraunt had raspberry frozen margaritas and they tasted just like that gum. Alcohol & raspberry together YUM!
