2 time c-section mamas

I know everyone is different, but when did/will your doctor schedule your 2nd c-section? Do they typically allow ladies to go to due date, or do they normally do it before then? Just curious, as I am due on Thanksgiving Day.

My first c-section was scheduled at exactly 39 weeks.  My second c-section was scheduled at 39 weeks, 4 days.

I was able to choose after 39 weeks. I chose based on the date (July 13), which is 39 weeks, 1 day for me.  6 more days!!

My 1st c-section was scheduled on my due date, 15 mos later my second was scheduled at 39w5d. 

My OB (new one) told me if I wanted another one he would want to do an amnio at 37w and if the lungs were ok, deliver.  If not he would go no later than 38w.  IF I were to have another I would probably just tell him skip the amnio @37w and just wait until 38 to deliver.

39 weeks was the earliest he would do it.  That would have been October 30th, and I didn't want my baby to share his b-day with Halloween...lol, so he was born on Nov 2nd at 39w 3 days.

I'm curious - why won't he go past 38w?

My doc said she wants to do my c-section one week before my due date, which means our baby will be born on New Year's Day!

My 1st c/s was scheduled at 37w6d because I had placenta previa. This time around, since I don't have the same complications (although I do have other ones) my c/s is scheduled for 39w1d.

1st was scheduled for 39w 4d

2nd was scheduled for 38w 6d

We scheduled it very early on (16 weeks?) and my doctor said 39 weeks was standard at his practice.

Looks like you should be home from the hospital in time for Thanksgiving!

I was scheduled at 39 weeks with both. They didn't want me to risk delivering naturally due to big babies.
