Maternity leave - Hedge Funds

Hi ladies,

I work at a small hedge fund that doesn't have a maternity policy yet (I'm the first person to have a baby). For those of you that work at hedge funds or investment banks, could you please share your leave policy (how many weeks off & how many of those weeks are paid)? I am putting together a list of other firms' policies before I ask for what I want. Thanks!

Well,  work in healthcare and all we get is the FMLA up to 12 weeks. I'm using all my horded time off so I have a total of 70 days, but if I had 0, I'd been taking mine without pay. My husband works for Credit Suisse and I believe they also get the FMLA up to 12 weeks, but I think that they get 2 weeks paid by the firm as well.

12 weeks is pretty standard.  MS gives 16, but this is brand new.
