so I'm supposed to start stims for IVF#3 on Friday after 7(!!!) weeks of bcp. I've been on lupron since the 29th.
I've stimmed very quickly in the past and even developed OHSS the first go around. I got my dosages and am only going to be starting out on 75 of menopur and 37.5 of gonal-F. This just seems so low to me - despite the fact that I'm typically a quick responder. I've never used menopur though...I guess that I'm just so afraid of being cancelled for being over suppressed.
anyone have any success with such a low dose? it's probably better to start out low and increase if necessary, right?
Re: IVF quick responders - ? for you.
I am a quick responder.
For my first IVF cycle i started out on 225, and I responded way too quickly. By the end I was coasting with no stims. My E2 was at about 4,000 at trigger, we got 14 eggs, 8 fertilized, and I developed OHSS at the end of the 2ww. Three made it to freeze.
For my second IVF cycle, I was on 150 of Gonal F until the last few days when my dose was decreased to 75. My E2 was 3,500 at trigger, and we got 10 eggs. I was prepared for fewer eggs, but the quality must have been better b/c they all fertilized. We had 2 to transfer and 4 to freeze.
At the start of the second IVF I was worried about the lower dose and the fact that we would probably get fewer eggs. But my RE assured me that it would be a better cycle, and it was.
I am sending tons of PPV you way! Good luck hon!
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
thanks hon! this is really helpful.
I'm hoping and praying that this is the magic protocol! I can't wait to get the show on the road!
I was a quick responder with my IUI injects cycle. For IVF I dd 75 gonal f and 75 menopur. I only had 7 eggs retrieved, which I was sad about at the time. Turns out that 6 fertilized and 5 were excellent quality.
My RE feels that "low and slow" helps get better quality eggs for quick responders.
