Caroline finally figured it out this weekend

We didn't have stairs at our old house so Caroline had no experience with them until we stayed at a hotel in May and our suite had steps.  She showed a little interest in the stairs but never would go any higher than 2 steps or so.  Our house now has steps.  Caroline would go and stand by them and reach for things that were on them, but had no interest in climbing them.  Until Saturday.  Jeremy went upstairs and I guess she wanted to be with him so away she went!  She was up in a matter of seconds!  And it's not a short staircase.  It's actually a short flight, a landing and then the rest of the way up. 

Of course I missed her first time up.  I was in the garage and the inlaws were inside watching her.  Anyways, since then she has been up them tons of times.  It's like a game for her now.  She waits until I see that she is at the bottom of the stairs and then she takes off so I can chase her.  She's a nut! 

We're working on getting her to safely come back down, but in the meantime I'll be getting a gate to keep her off there when I'm not watching.

I still can't believe she showed no sign of interest or even practiced a little before taking on the entire thing!!!

Jeremy and I were just saying we need to video it. I'll work on it tomorrow. I knoe Caroline will be more than willing to show her new skill off again.

Cute! Alexa will bolt right for the stairs if she sees a gate open. Unfortunately for us that meant buying 4 baby gates. I feel like I'm in jail lol!
