Doesn't matter if you are 4 c.m., 80% effaced and a 0 station ... or closed, 0% and unengaged ... you never really can know when you will go into labor.

Exactly! I really don't understand why they bother doing the internal exams because it just gets your hopes up & it ultimately doesn't mean anything!

I think this is why my practice no longer does them unless you're having contractions or you request one. 

I'm hoping that one of you ladies (Jennifer or Ashley) joins Morgan in labor soon!

So true!  Although, I am kind of sad I didn't have an internal at my 36 week appt - my doc waits until 38w.  I never got to find out how dialated I was before my water broke.  Just something I wish I knew...
