if the moms learned correct grammar so the kids didn't turn out to be illiterate losers?
"We cut a whole in them." SERIOUSLY??? It's HOLE, dummy.
And I swear that less of half of the posters on this board can correctly use they're/there/their and your/you're and explain why each is correct or wrong.
So many of you spend so much time trying to perfect your parenting by posting ridiculous questions on this board, but simultaneously show that you're practically illiterate and, guess what? Your kids are going to be too!
Re: wouldn't it be helpful to our DC
I HOLE-heartedly agree with you LOL
eta: I actually did want to add that I am notorious for making spelling and gramatical errors on this board. but it is not because I am illiterate! I usually only post when I am at work and I usually do it quickly without double-checking what I wrote, so meh- sometimes mistakes happen. Most women here are in that boat- either at work or handling children and not fully focusing on what they are writing. I hate when people use their/there/they're incorrectly but sometimes it happens by mistake if you are mindlessly typing away.

Just a thought--when you go on a rant about other people's grammar, you might want to proof it before you hit "post."
I was going to say the same thing. While I couldn't agree with you more, it's a touch ironic, don't ya think?
Actually I think that things that are clearly typo's from typing quickly or on an iphone or while at work or like the error I made above are TOTALLY different than misuse of their/they're/there or your/you're or to/too which I believe show that the typist had no idea what the correct form should be and/or didn't know they were making an error.
But yes, I should have proofread more carefully.
There is alot of truth to the original post on this. True story: My friend is a special education teacher (K-4th grade). She was observing a class during spelling. The child said the word "dubiously" and spelled it. The teacher corrected the child on the pronounciation. It's not "dubiously" it's "w-iously".
Sad and scary.
Um really- are you doing this on purpose? That would be TYPO IS since the typo isn't possessing anything... just sayin'.
LOL! I LOVE playing with you all!
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
I bruised my head on the doorframe trying to go to the DMV this morning. Makes for a lousy license photo.
Kidding. I can get out of the house without injury.
