Rec your booster seat

It's time to move the 5 yo to a booster.  I'm leaning towards the Britax Frontier 85 combo seat so that we can keep her in a harness, but I'm open to other ideas.  Any recs?

Re: Rec your booster seat

  • How much does she weigh? How mature is she? If she can sit correctly behind the belt 100% of the time, she's fine in a belt positioning booster (and if she meets the minimum of 40 lbs and 4 years--obviously meets the age requirement). If she can't sit there correctly all the time or doesn't meet the size requirement, I'd go for the frontier 85. We have a sunshine kids monterey for DS, who is almost 4 feet tall and about 45 lbs. I love the seat dearly, and it's perfect for him. I have heard it's not great for kids who are thinner, especially through the shoulders. The recaro vivo is a great booster for kids who are thinner. The clek oobr (high back one) is a good booster, as well. The graco turbobooster isn't awful, but I wouldn't like it for a full-time seat. The ones I listed besides the frontier do not have harnesses. I don't love the frontier as a booster, personally, but a lot of people like it. The graco nautilus is a harness seat that converts to a decent booster--I've tried it in booster mode and it's okay, but not great. Anyway, the frontier is a good option, too, because you can pass it on to your next child when she needs it.
